CONCEPTION OF POPULATION REPRODUCTIVE VARIABILITY AS A MEASURE FOR HARVEST REGULATION OF DOMINANT COMMERCIAL FISHES IN THE KREMENCHUK RESERVOIR

Abstract


The conception of the population reproductive variability proposed by E.M. Malkin was investigated on the example of dominant commercial fish species of the Kremenchuk reservoir. It was found that the reproductive potential of a population decreases as its pubescence period increases. Annual gain of the population number and allowable annual fishing mortality were estimated depending on the pubescence beginning period.
