THE IMPORTANCE OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED PLANTS IN CONNECTION TO LIVESTOCK FEEDING IN POLAND

Abstract


High quality manufactured feeding stuffs are the basis for the development of intensive livestock production. Their main component is GM soybean. As a valuable source of protein it allows easy balancing of feed rations, and it provides the lowest cost per unit of obtaining animal products. The aims of research were to evaluate the effects of the implementation of the ban on using GMOs in animal nutrition and to get to know the opinions of agricultural producers on GM plants.
