INVITRO TUBERINIZATION OF POTATO GENOTYPES (SOLANUM TUBEROSUM L.)OF UKRAINIAN SELECTION

Abstract


Tuberization responses of eight potato genotypes of Ukrainian selection were investigated. A semi-early cultivar Zeleniy Gay had the highest mean weight (0.37 g) from class of maxim size (7-10mm). In the next size class (5-7mm) Chervona Rutahad the close meaning weight (0.31 g). In the last class of size (<5 mm), Povin had the lowest mean weight (0.11 g). Zeleniy Gay had the highest capacity of production microtubers/plantlet (3.3), while Serpanok and Povin varieties recorded the lowest number of microtubers/plantlet (1.0-1.3). MS + 9% sucrose + 1.5 mg/L KIN combination was the best for in vitro tuberization among the parameters under study
