PORTABLE FLUOROMETER FOR FLUORESCENCE ANALYSIS OF AGRONOMIC PLANTS

Abstract


A portable, two-wavelength fluorometer based on recording chlorophyll fluorescence induction of agronomic plants is proposed. The effects of leaf development and side on the chlorophyll fluorescence of garden pea demonstrated that the fluorescence intensity depends on the morphology, pigment composition of the leaves and processes of re-absorption of the chlorophyll fluorescence.The effects of various fertilizers on fluorescence of soya bean and rapeseed were studied. It was shown that themost effective fertilizer combinations were N15P15K15for soya bean and N75P60K75 for rapeseed. The economic optimum of nitrogen-fertilizer for spinach was estimated as 60 kg N/ha for given field and year.  The possibility to use method of registration of chlorophyll fluorescence induction for studying the status of salads and garden pea under the effect of water deficit was demonstrated. The effects of high-intensity solar radiation on chlorophyll fluorescence of bush bean and garden pea were studied; possible mechanisms of interaction of optical radiation with chlorophyll were proposed. A portable fluorometer is characterized by compactness, an independent power supply, high sensitivity and gives a non-destructive estimate of in vivo fluorescence parameters of agronomic plants.
